Ground Control

Part of my Christmas present from Tim and Adele was to go for a roastery tour and coffee tasting session. Tim and l are both coffee nerds so we have both been looking forward to today.
Who would have thought there was a coffee roasters of excellence just outside Slaithwaite ( pronounced Slowit as in cow ) in West Yorkshire?
Here we met the head judge of the world latte championship at a venue which trains coffee roasters from Italy, France , Scandinavia , Australia, New Zealand and America.
They are currently working with Fortnum &Mason and Harvey Nichols to blend and roast their own brand of coffee.
Their own coffee has won Good Taste Awards out of 14, 000 entries…. I could go on.
We spent a really interesting afternoon watching the process of making top class coffee and then tasting eight wildly different coffees as seen in my main blip. We were all given a bag of the coffee we had observed being made as we left.
I asked what they did with their coffee sacks once emptied and l was told to help myself as they gave them away, so l did and l’m now thinking of how l will use them, thinking seat covers for my garden furniture .

Back at Tim’s now , just eaten beef and orzo stew, a recipe by John Gregory-Smith, a chef l confess to not knowing but it was so tasty.

I am one of those who much prefer going to a cinema to see a film rather than watching a movie streamed on a TV. But we want to try and watch all the nominated films before the Oscars so tonight we are hoping to watch The Holdovers, choosing it because we don’t think it will matter about the cinema photography which is lost on the small screen.
