If you go down to the woods today...

We took ourselves up to the Westridge Woods over Wotton under Edge, for a pre-lunch walk. 

Whether it's storm damage or some long overdue tree management the edges of the wood looked as if they'd been in the wars. However, a few months and they'll look gorgeous as the opened areas begin to throw up new growth. 

The climb up the Tyndall Monument was... shall we go with exhilarating? There might have been a few pauses up the hundred and twenty some steps to the top. The views aren't bad though, even on this overcast Wednesday. Extra.

You can see Swinhay House in the middle distance, which starred in the Sherlock series finale. Beyond that is Charfield and although you almost certainly can't pick it out I can see my house from here...
