This is the day

Little and Large

After the excitement of yesterday’s sighting of a wren in my garden, this morning I spotted a red kite. Its existence was announced by the sound of frantic squawking overhead as I crossed the Green after going to mid-week communion and, on looking up, I saw the kite circling menacingly round a handful of gulls. Both sightings gave me pleasure, but I’ll leave you to decide which one I preferred!

This lovely crop of snowdrops was seen on our afternoon walk, just beside the pavement on the busy High Road.

Which just goes to show that even in suburbia you can, fleetingly, feel as though you’re in the countryside.
