Washed by the Tide

Twice a day the tide washes over these rocks near Wembury in South-west Devon. The constantly restless sea leaves swirling patterns on the layers in the rock. Each time I walk along this shoreline it is different. Couldn't think what this reminded me of. Think it might have been wire wool.
Today, as well as the patterns in the rock the beach was strewn with white cuttlebones of different sizes, and in the stubble fields behind the low cliffs I watched a flock of cirl buntings.
