Dunstanburgh

Another castle, another sunrise and another early start.

Today it’s Dunstanburgh Castle from Embleton Bay. Having visited yesterday, we know exactly where we’re going - and as the pre-dawn skies are so much brighter it’s easy to find our way through the sand dunes to the beach.

The sky’s already lightening with thin strips of pink across the east. The wind is slightly gentler so I actually manage my tripod - though it’s not as steady as I’d like. Still, I do manage a few milky long exposures on the beach.

As the sun comes up behind the castle, gentle pink transforms to gold - a far cry from the fiery skies of yesterday.

So it’s another sunrise shot that is my main today - a gentle midpoint version together with an earlier pinky sky and a later full-blown golden shot - and there are two two taken yesterday afternoon.

Many thanks for your kind comments and hearts and stars in response to yesterday’s Bamburgh shots - all very much appreciated.
