Calne Town Gardens (Sunday 4th February 2024)

My walk through Castlefields Park to Chaveywell was uninspiring in rather dull light and showed only the promise of things to come, apart from a profusion of snowdrops. In the Town Gardens a gentleman had used a packet of corn crisps to coax five of the local cats into view.

Some of you may have heard Rosie Frater-Taylor on Radio 4's Loose Ends yesterday, performing this song accompanied only by her own excellent electric guitar playing. If you didn't it should be on BBC Sounds for the next four weeks. The official version, opens her new album Featherweight and is quite considerably rocked up with augmentation, but still sounds loose, jazzy and powerful.
