Engineering

We drove south today and met our Oxford family in Stratford.  After a yummy lunch at Huffkins we headed to the MAD (The Mechanical Art and Design) Museum in Stratford, one of Euan's favourite places, and spent a good couple of hours of more enjoying the wonderful, and very clever, automata.  Several of them were Euan's favourites including a very large wooden marble run which worked on several levels, included bells, a tambourine and xylophone and ran with fifty marbles (priced at £12,500!)  He also enjoyed the clock operated by ball bearings.  We spent much time in the space where you can build your own marble runs on the magnetic wall, lots of problem solving there.  My blip has Grandad and Euan building a run out of smaller, ingeniously shaped wooden blocks.

Then it was home with a switch around of car occupants and Euan and I looking out for things to tick off in his new I-Spy book.  Those were around when I was going on family holidays with my Mum and Dad, no I-Pads and streamed music in those days!

Back home and it was a game of Beetle and a few Dip Daps on tv whilst dinner was cooking, bathtime, bedtime book and now Euan's fast heading for sleep.

Apologies for the lack of comments this week.
