'Draw a Dough Ball Band Grandad'

After we had raced alongside Euan on his bike to Nursery this morning (!) we spent a leisurely hour or so in Costa with cuppas and pastries, puzzles and novels until it was time to take the roundabout route back to Nursery to collect him.  Then it was on to the top seat of the bus and in to the City.  We lunched at Pizza Express where Grandad was tasked to help with the puzzles.  From there we walked to the Covered Market where Dillon kept us all entertained whilst he cut Euan's hair.  From there it was the essential trip to Blackwell's Children's Dept where we read books about cheeky monkeys invading a house at bedtime and what I thought was a very poor David Whallian's story set in Monster School.  Euan enjoyed the stories but didn't want to have either of them.  He has moved on somewhat from picture books and prefers the 5-8 section of younger reader books.  He is keen to know the meanings of unfamiliar words just now so Mum and Dad have bought him a Children's dictionary, but we couldn't find 'stealthily' in it tonight and had to explain it instead.

After Blackwell's it was back on the front top seat of the yellow bus to home where the Beetle game came out again and then some crazy bouncing of small balls around the kitchen (don't tell Mum!)  Euan really is a pleasure to spend time with.
