Allan's Big Birthday

We went for a ride today celebrating Allan's 85th birthday. An amazing milestone and still going strong on his bike. He is the one who got me hooked on cycling when I moved in a couple of doors along from him several decades ago. 

In his day he was a top racing cyclist winning so many races including a stage of the Tour of Britain, known then as the Milk Race.

The gang went up to a café on the airfield for brunch, followed by a cake cutting ceremony. Here you see the masterpiece designed as a banana - the holy grail of cyclists.

Lots of laughs along the way with a stop for, yes, a banana and another one for a cuppa coming homeward. Happy Birthday AP and here's to the 90th.
