What did I see today...?

Finis Terre

Or 'World's End', to put it another way.

The most westerly point of our Camino (achieved by foot for some, and coach for others) was also the point our journey ended. With Mark, Owen and Stef arriving at lunchtime we wandered out to the "Lighthouse at the End of the World" (see my Camino Blipfolio for the view) but the evening was all about finding the west-facing beach on the other side of the headland to Fisterra.

We weren't disappointed, watching the sun drop down into the ocean as we toasted the night with some wine and orujo de hierbas (very nice stuff if you can get hold of it). It was also very nice to bump into some of our fellow Caminoers from earlier in the journey - also injured they had turned up a day after us in Santiago and arrived by coach as the others wandered in.

The next day we'd be journeying home, but that evening it was all about appreciating the end.
