Little Grebe

I visited the bird hide at Kinghorn Loch for the first time in ages.

Apparently I had just missed a kingfisher.  Apart from mallards, the other waterbirds were keeping their distance and this was the best I could manage.

It is a little grebe, Tachybaptus ruficollis, sometimes it is called a dabchick.
