A time for everything

Tiffany Chapel

Our flight back home wasn’t until 8.45 in the evening, so that left us several hours to do something, before driving to Tampa airport. So, having checked out of our apartment in Cocoa Beach, we drove to Winter Park, a neighbourhood north of Orlando, home to the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, which is most famous for having the most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the world, including jewelry, pottery, paintings, art glass, leaded glass lamps and windows, and his restored Byzantine-Romanesque chapel interior from the 1893 World Exhibition in Chicago. I just love Tiffany glass, so this was such a treat, and in the process we learned a lot about him. We left there about 2.30, leaving plenty of time to get to the airport, and it’s a good job we did, as the traffic was dreadful, two 20-minute delays, and then the rest was just stop-start traffic all the way - a very stressful drive for Roger. However, we arrived safe and sound, and in good time, affording us time to get something to eat in a relaxed fashion. By the time we had taken the bus to the extended stay car park, picked up our car and driven home, it was gone midnight, and time for bed!
