The Nap

Day two of Marianna's work in Warrington... She has had to drive there and back each day, through all the busy traffic around Manchester, as she's still breastfeeding Simone. She's found it exhausting... the price of freelance freedom.
So I'd fixed up to spend quite a bit of the day with Jack again. Although their sleep routine with Simone is going fairly well, he and M are both tired out really, and he's trying to summon up some coherent thoughts about his final MA project.
From my point of view, it turned out to be a lovely day. I spent the morning at their house, while Jack logged on for an MA tutorial.  Simone was playful and cuddly, and I managed to settle her for a nap in the sling.  The image is a selfie, with some faffing applied afterwards. The day was wet and windy, so the walking required to keep her snoozing was all done indoors. M and J know that they need to start embedding a different kind of daytime nap routine, but for now, this one works.
Jack's Macbook had stopped working unexpectedly yesterday, another source of stress. I brought mine with me, so that he could use it for parts of the day. Fortunately Richard and I have a friend who's a retired IT specialist from the University; he was able to recommend a reliable and affordable local Mac repair man.  Somewhat to our amazement, this very helpful man was able to diagnose the problem over the phone.  I dropped the laptop off to him in the afternoon, and Jack will pick it up tomorrow.
Later I met Frieda from preschool, and brought her back to our house for tea together. We haven't done this for quite a while, so it was a treat for all parties.  There followed an extended game with the toy doctor's kit, during which every soft toy in the house underwent some kind of specialist treatment - and made a full recovery.
