Life through the lens...

By ValC

Carpet of snow.

Today it was snowdrops but tomorrow maybe the real thing.
How lucky we have been as today has been glorious for our annual visit to Burton Agnes Hall to see the snowdrops.
Absolutely stunning as always.
Difficult to choose a photo as I took so many.
We then had a walk round the rest of the gardens and had a look inside the original Old Manor House built about 1170 by Roger de Stutville and was lived in by the Lords for 500 years before the construction of the spacious Elizabethan house in the 1600s.
Extra collage of some other points of interest including the Undercroft of the Manor House.

Then on to Bridlington where we are staying tonight.
Visited the Old Town where Dad’s Army was filmed. What interesting old buildings. Many are now antique shops which is where I saw an unusual Harley Davidson( see extra )

Then to check into the Premier Inn before a walk along the promenade to the harbour.
Greeted by lots of busy turnstones, and then watched the fishing boats retuning to land their catch, just as the sun was about to set.
Had a chat to a fisherman who was fishing off the harbour. He was catching whiting.
Two cormorants were also catching a lot of fish.

Back to change and then out for steak night at The Marine Bar.

What a fabulous day. We have been so lucky with the weather. I think we may not be so lucky tomorrow, but never mind we have had such a happy day today.
