The big day!

Grace is 40! And we did have Eda’s ‘bottom’ cake for breakfast! It was a flourless gf chocolate roulade and was yummy.

Heavy rain first thing which had eased by the time we set off into town. ( I imagine it was this rain that moved north and hit the cold air causing the snow they have had at home in Yorkshire) We walked down to London Road for the bus via Bailbrook House. Jude was running ( Eda was at school) and she fell. She did cut her knee creating a hole in her tights and a bit of blood so she became a bit of an invalid from there on hence the grumpy face in the blip.

We went to The Coppa Club at Bath Town house. Grace and I went on our own at Christmas and enjoyed it so the four of us went for lunch - we had intended it to be brunch but were a bit late for that. No worries it meant we could have cocktails!

We got back, Grace having carried Jude all the way up to Bailbrook, just in time for the arrival of one of her am dram friends with a card and present. She’s been getting texts all day mainly with photos attached of her at events and shows over the years.

John is home now and Eda has put her party dress on so we’re going to have presents and fizz before the birthday feast. What a special day!

Shame about Jude’s knee she’s spent the afternoon with a blanket watching TV. She’s already asked Granny to ‘sew my Elsa leggings’- they have sequins around the bottom! (Good to know I’m useful I’ve already seen two pairs of a Eda’s school ones since getting here yesterday!)
