Twice in a week

I have no trips out on a school night (or even at all) and then a few come along all at once. Monday night at the Usher Hall and then - on the spur of the moment - to Greenside Church this evening for a Toppings event, namely the launch of Sara Sheridan's new book The Secrets of Blythswood Square. I only discovered about the event around lunchtime, when I received an email from Amazon telling me about "new arrivals". I spotted that the book was published today, wondered if there was a launch event over the weekend, checked Sara Sheridan's website and realised there were still tickets available for a launch today. Tickets duly procured, Mr A joined me at work before we went for an early tea at Pizza Express and then we walked back down Leith Street to a very well attended event, where we were none the less lucky enough to get seats on the second row by dint of arriving early. It looks like it will be a diverting romp like The Fair Botanists. Just the sort of thing I like reading at the moment. Anyway, that was a lot of fun, and it finally feels like we have our lives back.

Work was busy. A meeting over at EFI (with refugees from George Square which is under renovation), followed by various meetings in the School which seemed to go well, interspersed by a visit to the Gallery in the opposite corner to talk about some interactions. Slowly starting to see the wood from the trees and to identify some forward paths.
