Hawkeye

When JJ opened the curtains this morning he spotted a sparrowhawk in the (flooded) orchard, feasting on a wood pigeon kill.

This afternoon it came back again for another meal, and a red kite swooped down, but seemed to think better of it, and settled in this tree watching proceedings.  There must have been another one close by because they eventually gave up and flew home.  The sparrowhawk also left the scene.

Not a good picture because I couldn’t keep the camera still and it’s quite a way away, hidden behind the branches.  Extra of the sparrowhawk.

The orchard over the fence is flooded as are some of the roads out and about.

This afternoon I’ve been up at my friends, with other friend, having a natter.
