A day in the life

Mellby Inn

I just came home from a job as a technician for some friends of mine. Their group of local musicians had a gig in a pub on the south east side of the island  called Mellby-Ör Inn. The owners of the Inn, Chris and Agneta, are keeping the pub open during the winter season while everyone else is closed. They arrange pub-evenings and concerts for the locals, excellent cooking, good music and the inn, with several rooms are of course open for those who don't want to drive home after a great night at the pub. Öland is a typical summer-island and therefore has few events during autumn and winter. We are grateful for what this couple are doing. Here's a link, should you be interested in staying for a while. This part of the island is an eldorado for birdwatchers in the spring and autumn, the landscape, on the Unescos World Heritage list,  is something special whenever you visit.

I was happy to assist with my competence tonight the band was good, the audience was noisy but happy, as it should be in a pub at wintertime.
