Lauriston castle

Out in the rain to meet up with a small group to cycle to Lauriston castle. By the National Cycle Route 1 it isn't far; we parked the bikes in a group and walked around the grounds. Too misty for long views over the Forth; the early blossom in the Japanese garden is out, and there's lots more to come, bullfinches in the fruit trees notwithstanding.  @lovenature caught the  witchhazel in front of the little waterfall.

Conversation and coffee : we were lucky to get indoor seats at the very small Mimi's Bakehouse in the stable block. Back by the way we had come; cycling East along West Coates against the stream of thousands of people walking to Murrayfield for the rugby match.

Short outing later for cheese and newspaper; talked to our neighbour in the evening prior to her setting off for warmer climes for a few weeks.
