Beechwood hangings

Very thick mist in the morning; went to the Fruitmarket to the Artists Bookmarket show; lots of small bindings and folded things. David Faithfull, from whom I am trying to buy a book, was there; turns out he doesn't want to sell me the thing I thought I was buying so we talked about my getting something different. Nothing to blip there yet ..

The Scottish Landscape awards show is at the City Art Gallery opposite. The first prize award is for a depiction of Bass Rock made of woven paper cut from musical scores. Blip is hangings made of beech wood, artist Naomi Macintosh, made in 2021, called Quiet Garden.

Out in the afternoon when there were patches of blue sky to Inverleith. The female adult swan of the breeding pair has died; causes to be determined. @MollyG has more of the story. Lots of upheaval in swan world at the various ponds ..

Thinking of my mother; it would have been her 86th birthday. Edited one of her short pieces of writing about wood for burning to send to my brother as remembrance.
