Looking at the menu

A wonderful day, starting with an exhibition of photographs of the town and its inhabitants by Max Sagon which inspired us to tour the streets again. I've taken several hundred photos over the past couple of days - the narrow streets, stone houses and bridges and peeling shutters are irresistible - but I want to look at them all properly on the big screen at home rather than the little netbook so I've chosen this one of LoJ at supper tonight to blip.

Last night's dinner was probably the best meal we've ever had - exquisite flavours and presentation and a real experience to remember. I had foie gras (preserved here by the chef), pigeon with dark chocolate sauce and praline of red peppercorns, and for dessert a blissful concoction of liquorice and chocolate. Wonderful!

Thank you for all your congratulations and perceptive comments on my forty-year blip yesterday - as many of you pointed out, the light patches more than make up for the occasional moments of shade.
