Wet crocuses

Today has been wet, wet wet! These crocuses are a tiny clump growing in my garden - we only have a few - and I thought they looked interesting covered in raindrops. This was focus stacked from 35 images!

Last night the camera club talk on zoom was so boring, I switched off after an hour! The photographer delivered his talk in a boring monologue, the content wasn't very interesting, and his impressionism landscapes looked like inharmonious colourful blotches, not my kind of thing! He took great pride in showing us where he lived now which was just a field away from where he was born, and all his photography takes place in the local area as he does not travel - proof that the old adage 'travel broadens the mind' has merit! It turns out I was not the only member who did not enjoy the talk, many others switched off even sooner.

Tomorrow is Valentine's day and I have never seen so many red roses in Waitrose, buckets of them almost spilling out the door! And so much chocolate. Someone reminded me that coincidentally tomorrow is also the start of Lent, and many people, even those who are not particularly religious, use Lent as a time to give up something, particularly chocolate. It is a good time for those dieting to cut out excesses.  Doesn't bode well if you are given chocolates for Valentine's day, you will have to wait 40 days before you can eat them!
