Barn at Elphin

I started the day by oversleeping a little but I did feel well rested. It was a day of mixed weather with short sunny outbreaks, good for photography.  Apparently there was some heavy rain but we managed to avoid that.  we headed out on our usual route and couldn't resist stopping at Elphin for a quick shot of this delightful barn.  We then headed off towards Lochinver wondering if the mountains had a little more snow than yesterday.  Such lovely scenery.  Before we reached Lochinver we turned along a very twisty single track road passing through Clachtill, Clashnessie and Drumby.  Although the road was very narrow it was so much easier than Devon roads which do not have so many passing places.  We were stopping many times to takes the beautiful scenery around us, clumps of birches in water, reeds sprarling in the sun, views out to sea with distant islands beyond and the mountains.  We didn't have time to stop to visit the Old Man of Stoer as we were cooking in the evening.

Glad to say our evening meal went well.  Another lovely day.
