Market Steps…

These steps get brightened up from time to time with temporary messages. This latest is for Guernsey Art and has a shocking pink background, which is lost in black and white so added as an extra.i’ve also added the Valentine’s Day Post Box Topper which just melted into the background in black and white.

The white shop at the top of the steps is Specsavers, which is today celebrating 40 years since the very first Specsavers was opened and of course it was in our town; though not this location. And later in 1984 four Specsavers shops opened in Bristol, Swansea, Bath and Plymouth. The rest as they say is history. But it’s still a Guernsey company and the founders and owners, Mary and Doug are still here.
