Digging up the past

Today I'm really stiff and tired. I think that the last two weeks have finally caught up with me. So I've stayed in and made a start on all the change of address notifications.

My blip is of a shoe, probably from a pony or mule, that we found in the garden. The original stone cottage (now the kitchen with a bedroom above) dates from the mid 19th century when the brickworks superintendent lived here. Near the house was a loam pit and we understand that ponies were used to haul the loam down the hill to the brickworks.
