Show time

Eben and Frieda were both with us today, as part of our half-term arrangements. It's rare for the two of them to have time together without their younger siblings, so it was nice to be able to do this.
Frieda has a lovely portable puppet theatre.  This gave us all a fun start to the day with a performance of 'Goldilocks and the Four (sic) Bears'. This became fairly riotous after a bit and the action moved upstairs to the bathroom, where Eben wanted to play burger stalls in the bath again (water being essential to the scenario). Frieda declined the offer of a daytime bath but joined in from the sidelines. When they got tired we watched "Bee Movie" on Netflix.   It's a good film, with plenty of wisecracks and enough action to keep both E and F absorbed, along with some messages about work, nature and the environment (not too didactic though).
Later Richard took them both home, and I did some high-speed prep for the evening's Greek class. We're working on the active, passive and reflexive voices of verbs.  We all get the logic and the explanations all right, but learning and reproducing the fiendishly large array of verb endings is coming along.... slowly. Fortunately we're all just about as clumsy as each other so there's no embarrassment.
