Rich In Colour

Sun and blue sky belied the cold wind making waves as it pushed the water up the length of the inlet. It was a struggle keeping the camera steady and I opted for less than ideal settings to get the shutter speed up enough to freeze the water.

I was drawn to the reflected light, of both the blue in the sky and the oranges from the part submerged limb fallen from a willow nearby. The latter creating patterns in the waves that shimmered as they made their way.

A log, only partly visible in the bottom left of the frame, was to blame for diverting the flow of water, narrowing its passage and amplifying the wave action.

A satisfying image, contrasting colour, not value, with plenty of interest for the eye.
