Lost Its Top

Lovely sunny day. I found the strong light and shadow on this broken snag interesting, as was its character. Not sure why we tend to project human characteristics onto to trees, possibly something to do with rhythm, dance maybe.

I applied the rarely used Velvia film simulation on this version to bring out the red dogwoods and increase contrast. Not sure I like it.

Extra: Number Two. A second Sandhill Crane turns up. Only hope they're a pair, but I don't know how to tell. Title reminds me of The Prisoner.
