A Day Worth Recording

The game is Decrypto.  A fun, think'y word game.

Two teams, each of three or four players is best, each with one of these screens visible to all of the team, but not the other team.  The words are less important that the numbers 1,2,3,4.

One member of the team whose turn it is secretly takes a card with 3 numbers on it, say, 3 1 4. That player then has to convey that number sequence to the rest of the team by saying out loud three single words, say Leicester, Dart, Christmas.  Both teams guess the number sequence - the home team having the advantage of sight of the screen.

Because the words don't change, and as you're not allowed to repeat a clue, a pattern starts to emerge and the opposing team starts to be able to guess the number sequence.  If they do that twice, they win.

The challenge is to convey unambiguously to the home team the number sequence, but keeping it as obscure as possible to keep the pattern as hidden as possible from the other team.

If you make it so obscure even your own team don't get it, you get a 'black mark'.  Get two of those and you automatically lose.

It's a lot more fun than the explanation makes it sound :o)
