The Woodland Garden (Saturday 17th February 2024)

The plum blossom has begun dispersing over the garden almost as soon as it appeared. I went out to get a shot of it (in Extras) but got distracted by the cotoneaster. The red berry theme is continued in the other Extra, of some self-seeded stinking iris berries.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Buddy Miller and Julie Miller - What You Gonna Do Leroy (recorded 2009, Dogtown Studios, Nashville TN)
The December 2019 issue of Uncut magazine was the oldest in my pile of magazines that needed to be finally dealt with and discarded, and this task was completed on this day. This also involved re-playing the cover-mount CD that came with it, in this case entitled Golden Gods, compiled by Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters. This opening track has a cameo vocal from Plant himself. Buddy and Julie Miller are a husband and wife duo who play multiple instruments and who recorded the album Written In Chalk in their home studio, with a team of support from fiddle, lap steel, bass and drum players. The song is a revival of Lefty Frizzell's 1960 number, later recorded by others including Burl Ives.
