Masonic Hall, Invercargill

Today we drove from Dunedin to Invercargill, mostly through rain. When we got to Invercargill I was reminded of the weather on some days in the southernmost parts of Patagonia. The latitudes are not much different. It was blowing a fierce chill wind with on and off icy rain. The locals look very underdressed - I can't imagine ever getting used to this.

Determined to brave it we did a couple of walks, the nicer of which was through a beautiful municipal park with a river running through it. We even had some sun. From here I photographed the Masonic Hall, trying hard to look like the Parthenon. MM theme: masons hold their secrets tight to their chests.

My second extra, also taken from within the park, is of St Mary's Basilica, and the first extra is from our hotel room window.

Thanks for hosting Laurie.

Trying to catch you all up as time and connections permit.
