Fox & Anchor

Walking home from my camera club meeting, it was still mild enough for people to be drinking outside Clerkenwell's many pubs. There has been a Fox & Anchor in Charterhouse Street for two centuries.  This building dates from 1897-99.  The Art Nouveau tiles and griffins were made by Doulton & Co of Lambeth.  It was Grade II listed in 1972.  It opens at 7am to provide breakfast for Smithfield Market porters (and revellers from Fabric nightclub nearby).

Fascinating camera club meeting with 3 members' presentations about their travels and their photographic challenges - a safari in Botswana, walking in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and 4WD travels through the high mountains of Pakistan!
