Lili

Having given you two Lili-free days, it’s a return to this precious bundle of gorgeousness - this time in colour.

Today’s appointment at The Walton Centre is a return to the issue of my spinal surgery - placed on hold while my TB treatment was taking place. The need for surgery is clear, but we decide it needs an MDT approach to minimise the chance of complications, so we leave it for a further three months to allow this to happen.

And if course, the proximity to Meols provides us with an opportunity to visit Lili - and her parents of course. Poor Solveig’s still recovering from the birth, and a mix up with prescriptions means she’s been without the stronger painkillers needed until today - and of course there’s the problem of sleep deprivation……. As G so rightly says, it’s unfair that baby humans are so demanding at a time when parents have least resilience! Of course, it gets easier - and it’s definitely worth it!

They change so quickly in the first few days and it’s lovely to see her with eyes wide open. Here she is with Oma (grandma)- Solveig’s mum who’s over from New York - sporting one of her many coloured headbands! And there’s another one in extras.
