Vivian Maier

Vivian Maier.

I watched a documentary lastnight on bbc2 about this female photographer who passed away in 2009. I was completely blown away by it all - her life story, her photos & her shooting style. This is a tribute to her work as she often shot self portraits like this with her rollriflex camera, usually against shop windows.

If you wanted to find the origin of street photography, well you could safely say that Vivian started it as early as the 50's. Her images were just stunning.

I recommend you Google her name if you haven't heard of her. I haven't put a link on about her because prior to 2009, very few people, even Google, hadn't even heard of her or even seen her work. Yes, it is a very emotionally charged story.

Blipfoto would've suited her big time.

A crazy day at work for me today. We had an open evening tonight so all day was spent prepping, tarting up, cleaning, tarting up, clearing, tarting up & printing. The open evening went very well and finished just before 9. So tomorrow will mostly consist of the reverse of what I have just said, only the workhouse will be kept clean!!
