A Snowflake & Precious Peg Handful, Aylesford

We are lucky that our kitchen has beautiful winter south facing light in the afternoon so when the sun does shine it floods the room with this gorgeous light and deep, contrasty shadows. Today's shot is a very simple one of my brother holding these tiny white "snowflakes" and gold and silver miniature pegs that I found in a large teacup in a cupboard! I have this great 35mm fixed fast lens that can be opened up right up to f1.8 or 2.2 that produces a lovely shallow depth of field that I felt was perfect for this image.
As it was Saturday we decided to try out a new pub, The Medway Inn in Wouldham. It was a lovely village pub with really friendly staff and great beer. It also apparently does really good curries so we will definitely revisit to try out the food!
