A child's clogs

This sweet wee pair of clogs is on display in the small museum at Charlton Lodge, Alexandra Park, in Manchester. Clarissa took us there for a visit this morning. The clogs were donated by one of the museum volunteers. He found them under the floor boards when he was renovating his kitchen. I do hope that there is not a sinister reason for saving a child's footwear in this way. (See this blog post on the National Museum of Scotland's web site.)

Also this morning I joined a WhatsApp video call with my two sisters and Mummy hazelh in West Sussex, and Uncle John and Auntie Jill in Australia. John was so happy to see his big sister online.

This afternoon Mr hazelh and I set off for Cirencester, the third destination of our two week holiday. We had hoped to make it in about three hours, but were caught up in a long traffic jam on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent due to an accident. At the accident site itself we passed five cars in the pile-up (the middle one was very badly damaged), two ambulances, three police cars, and various people by the roadside, including a casualty on a stretcher.

Not long after we arrived in Cirencester, Jackie and Richard whisked us out for a family pizza night with their two children and Jackie's parents. Jackie's 60th birthday celebrations have officially started.

Exercise today: walking (10,075 steps).
