Lanarkshire win Henderson Bishop

What a fantastic week. Libby, Nancy, Maggie, and Mhairi were deserved winners of the Henderson Bishop trophy today. They have played really well all week winning every game. The home crowd were out in force for the semi final this morning and watched a really close game against Forfar which went all the way to an extra end. This afternoon's final was a more one sided affair with Libby and the girls in control of the game until Aberdeen conceded after six ends with the score at 11-1.

The last time a Lanarkshire rink won this trophy was in 1983 and the previous winner, Alison Allison, was there to see it return.

This evening I was back at the ice rink to watch the  final of one of our club competitions, the Aikman Cup, which was another one sided affair. There was lots of cheering but most of it coming from East Kilbride and Haremyres members who were having a frog racing fundraiser in aid of The Brain Tumor Charity in memory of Willie Craig.
