Buyer’s day

Left the house at 6.30am dragging the dog through the appalling weather to the car before dropping him off at brother Jono’s.  In London by 9 for the London screenings.   After a general showreel we we showed the international version (shorter) of episode 1 to what our distributor hoped were more buyers.   The major French channel who have bought it were delighted by the new version and said they thought it was better than the original.  It isn’t but it’s what you want them to think.

This pic was in the foyer of the Odeon Leicester Square which is where we were screening. I enjoyed the sight of Joe Cole contrasting with Elizabeth Taylor.  It was slightly daunting to see it on the screen that launches the biggest movies.

We had a snack lunch in the foyer and then dispersed. I wandered through Covent Garden and in and out of some lovely shops before landing at the stationery store Choosing Keeping which I have never been into.  Definitely somewhere to go for beautiful presents and stocking fillers.  I bought myself a stubby German roller ball pen to keep in my handbag as I never have one and often need one.

Met up with Waleed and Joana who were jet lagged having flown in from LA.  We met up with a potential Middle Eastern buyer who I know well as he used to work at Fremantle in America.  Fingers crossed it will yield something good.

Home, in more lashing rain and hail to dinner with brother who had had the dog to stay for the day.  Nice to be cooked for and a soft landing into the weekend.
