Culbin Forest

We left our campsite in Inverness and drooped by Highland Campervans to let them take a good look at our dodgy cooker. We thought the problem had been sorted but the blast furnace heat coming off it has again caused the silvering on the knobs to fry off. It has now become clear that the fan doesn't work and, hey presto, now it does and all is solved. At last. We hope!

It, of course, took longer than expected so we decided to take a longer walk with Berry and forget our visit to Brodie Castle near Forres. Another time. The walk at Culbin was terrific anyway. Big stands of mixed conifers again with mixed birds - including Crossbills, a new one for us, and who are already well into laying eggs -and a lovely clear pond for Berry dipping.

Onwards to Stonehaven where we'll stay for three nights. Apparently their boiler has broken down so cold showers only. Brrrr. Time to test out the one in M'vanwee, I think!
