Glen Etive Stag

It was a bit grey and drizzly this morning so we didn't rush to get out. We headed up to Glen Etive and took the drive down. We stopped at Lochan Urr but the low cloud didn't make the view very good. We hoped to see a stag or two but didn't.

On the way back up we stopped to photograph a white horse that was standing in front of a good view and it was only on coming back to the car that I saw some deer on the other side of the road. This stag was standing in a gully for some reason and he entered into the spirit of things and stayed for a few photos.

The River Etive wasn't as full as I've seen it previously and the torrents didn't impress. We did stop at the Buachaille Etive Mor viewpoint again and made the most of being in clothes we didn't mind getting dirty. I like one of the viewpoints very much so I've added that one as an extra.

We were going to catch the sunset at Castle Stalker but the signs said the road would be closed at 7pm at Balchulish. We decided not to wait because there's a fair walk back involved and if the road closed before we got there we'd have a 60 mile detour back!

We're off to the Isle of Skye tomorrow and the weather looks promising. Fingers crossed.

Thanks very much for the presents on yesterday's.
