Life through the lens...

Memories

A sunny morning and cloudy afternoon.
It does feel like Spring.
We did our Click and Collect at Sainsbury’s this morning and then after lunch I started on the garden.
Cut back the buddleia to just a couple of feet as it always grows too tall. Hopefully haven’t overdone it.
Also cut back the hydrangea. That was also getting too big. May be won’t have many flowers this summer.
Then hoed round all the flower beds and sprinkled on some fish, blood and bone fertiliser.
This hoe belonged to my grandfather who was a gardener. He started out as an apprentice, in Morab gardens, Penzance. Then moved to the Isle of Rhum, Scotland. From there to Sefton Park, Liverpool. Then up to Langholm, Scotland, where my mum was born, and finally to Bradford, Yorkshire.
The hoe is over hundred years old now. It just feels good whenever I use it, and remember grandad.

Hope I haven’t done too much as have ended up with a bloodshot eye.
Hopefully will be better tomorrow.
