Number147

Sunday

I have probably shown this house before. It is on the way to Sells Green. I got the details of it in about 1996 but we bought the house we are in now. It was too far away from town and school and my work for us to walk. The current owners have extended it. It was only a little cottage back then.

It was a beautiful morning so we walked to the Three Magpies and had a sandwich lunch in the beer garden.

On the way, we tried to help a duck whose mouth was stuck open. It was desperate to eat but could not. It came close to Clive's grasp but we could not catch it.

A call to Wiltshire RSPCA followed. We were told that they were in Hampshire. They could send someone out, by which time, the duck may have flown off.

On our walk back to Devizes, we looked out for the poor creature. We met some young fishermen who had tried to catch it in their net but to no avail.

Well, we tried!

The afternoon was spent celebrating Arthur's 10th with lots of cake.

Arthur has been to a Barber for a proper haircut and he looks much taller and older!
