The Travis Wetland Nature Heritage Park is a lowland freshwater wetland and is the most important freshwater wetland for birds in Christchurch. Fifty-five species of birds, including 35 natives, have been recorded at the wetland.

It was great fun getting together with blippers Jamazen, GingerNan and Spikes2013 this morning, at the Travis Wetlands. It had absolutely poured with rain overnight, and we'd all wondered if we'd be going somewhere undercover, but although the Wetlands were thoroughly wet, the wildfowl were aplenty and the blipping material was on overload. It was hard choosing what to post! There is a photo in here of 3 keen blippers, plus three extra images.
