BI CENTENARY

RNLI is 200 years old today . . . lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved an incredible 146,277 lives during this time.
RNLI have operated from a lifeboat station in Scarborough, North Yorkshire since 1801, making it the third oldest lifeboat station in the United Kingdom. The New Boathouse was completed in 2016.
RNLI Boat 13-15 Frederick William Plaxton . . . 13 meters long, and Boat 15 in this Shannon Class, is one of the latest class of all-weather lifeboat to join the RNLI fleet. Propelled by waterjets instead of traditional propellers, the Shannon lifeboat was designed to be launched and recovered from a beach via a new faster and safer launch and recovery system and can also be launched from a slipway or lie afloat.
This boat featured on British TV yesterday . . . a link to the programme is here.
No cycling with T this morning as it was icy . . . instead another 10K + steps . . . wearing myself down.
