Guard

Had to go to Bury St Edmunds today so went for a walk along the river & back through the town & the Abbey Gardens. For once there was a choice of images for Blip - the Abbot's Bridge (from both sides!), an egret by the river, a large clump of Euphorbia in the garden, and so on, but in the end I chose this sculpture of a wolf in the Abbey Gardens because I liked the texture formed by the grain of the wood and by the efforts of the sculptor (Luke Chapman, I think). Wolves feature in several places around the town as legend has it that a wolf guarded the body of King (later to be Saint) Edmund after he had been killed by Vikings near Hoxne.
