Scarborough

Last day of our mini seaside break today and we left the cottage and drove up to an ex-railway viaduct near Whitby for a quick walk.

We then drove towards Scarborough, stopping at an antiques place on route.  We found some little bottles we liked but there was no one around so we knocked on the house door.  The woman inside didn't know anything, but phoned the owner (presumably a relative) who was up the road in the supermarket.  While he was on his way back she opened up the main warehouse for us which was crammed full of stuff.  A fake suite of armour.  Lots of old furniture.  Lots of brass blowlamps for some reason.  We the owner arrived we had a quick chat with him and then travelled on to Scarborough.

We decided on South Bay this time, and walked from Marine Drive to the Spa and back, stopping for a hotdog for lunch on the way out, and afternoon tea with a teacake on the way back.  We particularly enjoyed taking photos of people walking through the sea spray on the beach.

All that, and home in time for dinner.
