Brian's Bits

When to declare?

I started an intermittent "Series" on "First sighting".  Qn. - when to declare it?
For example - let's be honest you know that's going to be a daffodil long before you even see the bud standing to attention; never mind bending over, prior to opening.
I think this is valid, for two reasons.  #1.  As seen, and not much different from the same in full flower. -  #2. It, most certainly is a first sighting in this location; I have no recollections of it ever being planted in the front garden.
I'm not, usually, a great fan of Muscari (Grape Hyacinth) normally, having suffered an excess of them "at home", where they were almost too crowded to even flower.  This variety, however, we both liked.
