A Black Headed Swan Vista, Maidstone

My brother had to take his car in early this morning for it's annual service and M.O.T. so I went in with him to keep him company. After dropping the car off we decided to head to a 'Spoons on Maidstone High Street for breakfast. We chose a sausage and egg muffin each with a hash brown and a big mug of coffee - all for the princely sum of £8.50. Being only just after eight o'clock in the morning we were too early to be able to have an accompanying pint with it!
However, after a bit of walk we headed back there for a pint each (£5.54 for the both!) before I plucked up the courage to have my hair cut after many  months of avoiding it. It was only £12 including tip, which was much cheaper than London.
I then persuaded my brother that as it was such a nice day we should walk along the river all the way back home - it's about four miles or so. Today's main image was taken looking back towards the centre of  Maidstone --due to the way the light fell the swan's head and long neck was in deep shadow, hence the title. I think it was looking for food as it came straight towards us but unfortunately we didn't have any.
The three extras are from the river walk. The first is a close up of some of the graffiti under one of the motorway bridges that crosses above the river, the second, "Tipping At The Picnic Table", is the back of one of the industrial units that line the banks and the last the entrance to the very large Waitrose cold store/warehouse on the edge of our village.
We were pretty tired by the time we got home (even though we had a pit stop half way) but it was so worth the effort.
