Gnomes & Garden

...not to be confused with Homes & Gardens, the upmarket interior and garden design magazine which rather pretentiously describes itself as "The World's Home Design Bible". I'm not entirely sure this would quite fit their brief!
Today's image was taken on a quick spin out to The Malta Inn at Allington Lock. It was very quiet and we managed to secure a table with a view out across the River Medway as we watched the occasional walker or rambler stroll past on the towpath. I really like going there at this time of year when it's much quieter and you can just have a peaceful pint watching the world go by.
Having said all that my image doesn't reflect any of this -  not the waterside environment, the waterborne craft, the lock itself or even the transient local wildlife - no my attention was far too easily distracted by these two brightly coloured gnomes in the garden of the nearby lock keepers cottage. The little fella in the red hat that appears to have fallen off his perch looks like he may already have had a few too many at the Malta Inn! :-)
