Photogenic Cactus

The Opuntia cochenillifera, aka Prickly Pear Cactus, is native to central America and Mexico. It grows happily on the Florida peninsula, mostly in the southern half of the state. There is a beautiful specimen (check the *extra) at the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, located here in Gainesville.
